<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hello- Thanks to everyone for your help with the engine mount problem! I got several people e-mailing or calling me with help... I've been on many online VW lists, and it's things like this that make me appreciate how great this one is! :-) Kris Kuckowicz luckily lives nearby and works even more nearby to where I'm staying, so it was little more than a hop, skip, and jump for us to meet up. As "thanks" for lending me the cherry engine mount, I gave him a test drive in my "kinda-fastish" (hehe) T3. That was fun :-). Thanks again, Kris! Twas a pleasure meeting you. The engine mount was TOAST! The flat-part that goes on the body was a V, and the center was 1-1.5" lower than the ends, radically dropping the right-hand side of the engine. I was able to massage the body itself back into shape without a problem, but I didn't feel like fixing the mount. I'll take some pics... every single piece of the mount is bent. And, I'm off!!! I'm leaving for Kings Canyon/Sequoia right now where I'll drive on roads with warnings like "steep, narrow, and windy. WARNING: this road has 130 turns as 12 switchbacks and is not recommended for most vehicles." I love it! Then I'm visiting some family in SoCal, Vegas, and then off to Moab and the Rockies. Finally, I'll skip on through the Midwest and be back in Chicagoland in about a week or so. Wish me luck! I'll see ya on the other side.
