Hey Shawn, I am in the process of doing this to my Notch. There's a guy in the Central Valley, Ca that has a website for this, but I can't find the link now.. Disconnect the steering coupler. Crawl under the car and remove all the bolts all the way around the edge of the pan... I'm sure someone will let us know how many there are. NOTE: If the pan bolts give you any grief whatsoever... spray them, heat them, do whatever you have to do to loosen them, because breaking off panbolt heads is a royal pain to correct, believe me, I know... Disconnect brake lines, ebrake line... throttle cable... I know I'm missing something else.. Install a junk bumper to the front and rear of your car, or find a way to pad it. Once you get all the bolts out, jack up the front of your car by the bumper with a high-lift jack, this will force the front end off the pan. Place a jack stand on either side of the front of the car, near the door posts, slip a 2x6 between the body and the pan, on the stands then lower the front end onto the 2x6. Repeat with the back end, 2x6's and stands, and roll the pan out! You may not be able to get the body up high enough to roll it forward without removing the gear shift, etc. Good luck, Carrie http://www.eradain.com/vwcompound -----Original Message----- From: type3@vwtype3.org [mailto:type3@vwtype3.org]On Behalf Of Shawn Porter Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 3:04 PM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: [T3] body removal how do i get the body off the pan?? shawn ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
