I would look at the carbs to see if they are responding to the slight incline, or to the slight increase in throttle that you no doubt gave it when you hit the incline. You could start by seeing if the same thing happens on level ground when you give it a very slight bit of extra throttle. It could be a accel pump that needs to be adjusted, or a carb passage that is blocked. Or it could be that the carbs are starved for gas and the hill makes it worse. I'm guessing here.
