<x-charset iso-8859-1> Your shorting the coil out... you sure your connecting the right wires to the right terminals on the coil?? I agree with the other poster that the Green is usually the one for the coil negative and the red wire is for the positive... perhaps its a bad Tach or youve popped something inside it trying things.
