Dave Hall wrote: Late response, but who are these 'poor little step children in the air-cooled VW world'? I don't think that describes the adaptable, sensible-sized with huge luggage space, economical, reliable, attractive, rugged Variant (Squareback) I drive, or any Type 3 for that matter. By comparison, the Bug is primitive, the Bus bloated, and the Type 4 - well, odd-looking from the front anyway. Hold your head up high and walk tall - you have the MOST desirable air-cooled VW of them all. Dave: You know we are the "step children", we just happen to be the smarter, bigger, nicer, kinder version. I knew it when I bought my first squareback. I do agree the Type 4 may have the look only a mother could love, but I have heard they are really nice otherwise. The Last of the air cooled breed, as far as progress or adavancement, not the end of production, just the last of the aircooled design. -- Richard (PapaG) Green New Ulm, Texas ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
