I suppose it is possible, but how would you check for something like that? All of the guides on this head felt right and the valves looked good and so did the head. This was when I was changing to the stock springs. BTW, I did check the Hi-Rev springs and they measured 145 lbs at 31mm compressed height. The spec for the stock springs is 117 - 135 lbs at 31mm compressed height. So they are a bit stronger, but not much. >Also, does the end of the spark plug look okay? The plug looks OK, a bit darker than it should be, but not all oily or wet, and not white. I have tried the Champions and the Bsoch W8AC which is what is in there now. I gave up on the platinums last night. Although I doubt they were ever the problem. All the plugs exhibited the same behavior. >Could there be anything in the # 3 exhaust pipe or muffler that would keep it >from exhausting? (shop rag, paper towel, mouse nest, rust???) I suppose something could be in there. I have a cobbled together connection between the heat exchanger and the muffler but it is just a short piece of pipe and a couple of pipe clamps. Maybe I will try to take that apart with the engine in the car, just to make sure. I would be really surprised, but have no other reasonable explanantion for my symptoms.
