Dave, I think he means... well, for example... on a recent visit to the local VW/foreign car parts house, the guy behind the counter tried to sell me a Volvo belt, a Beetle generator belt, a generic (non-f.i.) fuel filter, and Bus and *Corrado* brake pads, all for my '69 Squareback. Among fans, parts suppliers, and mechanics in the air-cooled VW world, few are very familiar with the Type III and most assume that their Type I/II knowledge will transfer directly. These well-meaning folks are often dead wrong when addressing Type III matters. I think this is why many of the Type III fans at the Invasion were just kind of mystified at why the Bus folks felt so "left out". Those kids need a healthy reality check... Also, I agree with you Dave -- my Type III is much more sophisticated, efficient, and pleasant to drive than my Beetles or my Bus. -Greg "Types I, II *and* III, so there!"
