Hmm - there was a good front bumper with the black tape rather than rubber
fill at the Madison WI VW show after Parma.  Maybe I should have brought it
back with me, though it was only what a good re-chrome would have cost here,
so wouldn't be much advantage for all the effort.

Check-in luggage for my flight was max 2 pieces, up to 30kg each, with a
specified total L+W+D.  I reckon a bumper might have gone as check-in
baggage.  There were certainly some pretty big things that came off onto the
carousel.

The pair of pretty sound late front fenders with good chrome indicators,
lenses, rubber seals, bulbs, side trim and even a good aerial, that I got at
the European Type 3 meeting for $40 (40 Euros) was some compensation anyway.
