Very "Cool" idea. it could take the place of the black plastic "nose cap" on the pulley, and its shaft could even stick down in there somewhat. I think the sticking point would be the mounting. It should mount to the alum fan housing, not the steel pulley housing, but even the fan housing is not all that rigid with the case/crankshaft. One would really need to take pains to get the fan housing well bolted to the case, and well centered, as well. BTW, I made a sleeve to center the fan housing to the case many years ago.
