<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hi Everyone! I sent my introduction while everyone was away at Parma, so hopefully most of you read it once you got back. Anyway, came across this ad for a Squareback and wondered what you thought: _____________________ If you are looking for the perfect VW project car for restoration, this '67 Type III California native(no salt exposure) may be the ticket! Unlike other project cars that are merely plundered parts cars, this car has all of its' parts present and accounted for - a real rarity for vintage VWs - especially '67s! In storage for over 20 years, car has little, if any rust. Body and pan in pristine shape - never in a fender-bender. Doors, fenders, front and rear decks, chrome, roof rack, all VW(German) factory original - no after-market parts! Even has the original (though a little dull) Pearl White factory paint job. Car has 102k original miles; stock 1600 cc engine is rebuilt and has approx. 30k miles. Has original dual Solex carbs - no EFI. Tranny is original 4 speed and is a little tired(i.e. noisy). While the interior is original and in need of restoration; seats, steering wheel(no cracks), and gauges(original VDO) are all functional. Original VW factory glass in excellent condition. Rear popouts, needs new rubber all around. ______________________ I emailed him to find out if he could send me additional photos of the interior, etc, and what he meant by the transmission being "tired" (whether it pops out of gear). Also don't have a price (had to contact for price), but wondering what everyone thought. For a slight recap, I am a mom of 2 (3 years and 3 months) who wants to restore a car sometime in the near future. Owned a '71 Beetle in college, and did my own tune-ups, so no unfamiliar with VW engines, and my dad spent his summers off from school teaching restoring Bugs when I was growing up. My grandparents had a '72 dark green Fastback when I was growing up (drove it from FL to Upstate NY every year). Have such fond memories of that car..... Anyway, what are your thoughts?
