<x-charset iso-8859-1>The bulbs in the black base from my 69' are very small 5/16ths in. tall X 3/16ths in diameter. and they each have two bare wires coming out of the bottom ( like the white X-Mas lights ) looks like they are set in a holder with glue or epoxy. It does not look like the bulbs are interchangeable. I have black bases, but I don't understand your last sentence. All these bulbs are replacable and use the same bulbs as the speedometer and the clock. They are bayonet base bulbs, meaning that you push and turn CCW ~1/4 turn, then release them to take them out. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
