You mean the tie rod end taper? If so, that changed in 67 or so and it is not 
actually in the steering knuckle; it is in the steering arm, which can be 
swapped if necessary.

BTW, this just made me realize that someone with an early car who can't 
get tie rod ends anymore could just swap in late steering and Pitman arms 
and then use the late tie rod ends. You might need late tie rods, too. I don't 
know whether the threads changed.

There are at least 4 different knuckles, ignoring L vs R, early to late:

start-???
Small ball joint pinch bolts, drum brakes

???-mid 68
Large pinch bolt, small inner wheel bearing, small disk brake bolts

mid 68-late 71
Large pinch bolt, large inner wheel bearing, small disk brake bolts

late 71-73
Large pinch bolt, large inner wheel bearing, large disk brake bolts
