I'm still searching for the cause of the slight cruising
hesitation and WOT lack of power. (dual Solex) I took out the fuel
pump and cleaned it up, finding nothing amiss; the rod is not worn,
and the little filter is clean and clear. I rigged up a pressure
gauge and am getting 3.5 psi. I had a friend sit in the backseat as I
drove, and he said it remained steady. So that's not it, although I
would love to get a rebuild kit. The VWFLAPS sells a new pump for $18
bucks, but I'd rather dig up a kit somewhere. Can anyone tell me if
any other models took this kit?
I borrowed a compression tester, and am going to see what it
says. I've never done this, do I do it cold? I really don't want to
pull the plugs from a hot engine. Should I pull all the plugs, or
just the one being tested?
