On the outside of the front clip just behind the front
wheels, in the wheel well there is a section
spot-welded on the outside, with a small opening at
the top rear, then another at the bottom front.  I
believe this section collects dirt - muck and water. 
This is a common spot for our cars to be rusted
sometimes through from the front trunk as well as into
to the wheel well.  On the drivers side this is near
the where the brake fluid lines run down from the
reservoir
