Just changing the pressure plate won't change the end play, but it is possible that installing a "high performance" pressure plate could cause excess wear on the thrust bearing and increase the end play. I would not expect that to happen right away, however. There is no rear oil seal in our engines. Did you ever check the fan/pulley bolt to see if it was tight enough?
