Semi-hemi cut the heads for carb engines. Keep the compression ratio as low as you can. You will likely need cylinder head spacers to lower the compression ratio if you are going to larger cylinders. Keep your compression ratio at 7.5:1 or lower. When you use the spacers, you generally need to also make adjustments to pushrod lengths in order to keep your valve train geometry properly aligned. Keep your cylinder size to 88's or lower for Type 3- 90.5's if you are willing to sacrifice longevity for slight power gain.
