> But, while I was trying to trace the rattle, I also noticed that when I put my hands on the top of the tyre and shake it back and forth I get a clunking noise. Shaking the right hand tyre causes the same noise from the left one. Could this be caused by the loose grub screw on the anti-roll bar that I have heard so much about on this list? > If both wheels clunk, yes, that could be the adjustment of the upper torsion arm end play. You need someone else to move the wheel back and forth while you check the upper arm for movement with your finger or visually. The procedure is detailed in a shop manual or the owner's manual. It could also been loose wheel bearings. - Everett ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
