Is this the car that gets a hot front brake drum? Have you checked the inner 
wheel bearing like I suggested? That would also make a clunk, as well as 
possibly make the brakes lock up. Check it out.

I can't see what the ball looks like, but everything else is pretty normal. How 
to check them is detailed in the Bentley manual. With the BJ out, it's easy 
to do in a vice. With it in your hand like that the only thing you can tell is if 
it's loose (parts actually rattle around) or if the ball is rusty.

The oval clearance area is perfectly correct, as is.
