Ok the weather was nice (relatively) so I poked around the motor a little more today. I have a few more questions: The oil breather cap has popped off before, and I've replaced it. What is the purpose of this cap, and what would cause it to pop off? I gave the air outlets a good shake and they appear to be tight. The rattling sounds a bit more 'internal', like it's coming from inside the motor rather than something loose outside. I'm wondering if there's a relationship between the rattling motor and the oil breather cap popping off? Thanks again Jeff 69 Notchback AT > On 5 Oct 2002, at 21:27, Jeff Palmer wrote: > > > First of all I noticed my car started leaking oil when it hadn't before.
