Certainly in 1971 the 1600A could come with dual carbs, as well as with automatic transmission. It has rubber mats, no waist trim, painted vent-wings and other economies. I think the single carbed version was always identified by an M-number, M3. The M-code indicates that pre-66 Type 34s could be single carbed. Do I recall the even more basic version with swing axle and 1500 engine was just called the "1600"? Dave.
