Sorry to hear about that Kevin. I am going through this same thing right now. One bit of advice that the guy at the body shop that did the estimate gave me. He said that if they say they want to total it and are not giving you a good deal, tell them you want it replaced. You know, tell them ok find me a 67 Square in the same condition etc. He said since you are dealing with the other guys insurance and it was his fault you have a little more leverage than if it was your fault. I will find out what I am up against this week, once the insurance gets the estimate. Plus since this body shop did not have prices to replace parts I gave him the prices I found for used fenders, doors etc. This helped my estimate to be in the more realistic range, which may give me a better chance, that it does not get totaled. And I have already determined that if they total my car, I am stripping everything I can, then they can tow it out of my drive way. If they don't put a good value on my car then I'll give them what they paid for. Good Luck!
