All automatic Type 34s were carb'ed (and there weren't many > made) because the Type 34 was never made with FI. I saw an automatic Fastback with carbs when I was first looking for a Type 3. I think it was a 69 or 70, 1600TL. It is the only T3 automatic that I have seen. I remember the key wouldn't turn until the gearbox was in neutral.
