Ummm...sorry to be so ignorant. What are "standard colors" and "L
codes" ? You mean I can go to a store and buy spray paint in Marina
 Blau? I've never seen it.

 Lori

Standard colors are original VW colors, such as L-41 (black as I recall, not
up to date on the color codes). Everyone knows how to make L-41 paint. Go to
any paint
supplier, and they will tell you. There was an article in VW Trends, I think,
about 1.5
years ago that had a copy of all of the standard colors plus their L-codes.

If you have the L-code, you can have any paint supplier make up your paint
for you. Some even stock spray cans of L-coded paint. It's for touch-ups.
There is an outfit
called Wolfsburg West that has a list of the L-codes. And. yes, you can buy
Marina
Blau (marine blue) paint at any supplier. Just ask for Marina Blau paint, and
they will
tell you the L-code for it. Look at a sample of it. If it matches your paint,
that's what you are looking for.
