<x-charset iso-8859-1>I have to agree with the majority out there.....just a cheapy respray or the exterior in another color always looks poorly done. Remember that there are quite a few areas on the interior of the car that have exposed painted sheetmetal. The inner frame of the door and the lower half of the dash are the two most obvious. I also don't like opening the doors and finding a different color. Most of the cheapy paint jobs only do the outer exposed surfaces. They won't do inside the door jambs or on the interior or under the hood. Doing all of these will raise the price considerable due to all the masking and trying to mask all these areas would be a pain and would invariable lead to missed areas and overspray. I feeling is that to change the color on Type 3 you really need to disassemble the car most of the way and get it done right. Having said that I will be getting Sophy a cheapy paint job (In the original VW Blue) this winter. I will remove most of the exterior trim bits and do lots of the masking and bodywork myself. I just don't have the facilities to spray it. Just my 3 cents worth.
