I looked at your photo and I have both of these parts. The locking shell is 
welded to the steering shaft. The parts I have are from a 71 and they are the 
same as those in yours (IIRC, you have a 69, right?) The 65 steering shaft is 
a solid shaft; you really should use the later collapsible shaft, which was 
introduced in 68. The late shaft is a good upgrade for an early car, too.

What manual? I don't recognize this number system. If this is the official 
German Dealer Service Manual, I don't have one of those.
