Re: [T3] กกก Copy Any DVD with a C D Burn er_กกก_________ __________________ _____

I haven't got a DVD drive, just a CD burner ( LG 40X12X40 = US$70), so I
have no way to read a DVD (I have a DVD player, but no drive in the 'puter),
so I can't copy a DVD using only my CDR drive :-(

My GF is in Thailand at the moment, and I think she is going to geta few
VCD's from there. Hopefully they have "The Day Of The Triffids" - I have
found one copy and it was US$45!!! We usually pay US$17 - US$25 for popular
stff, andas little as US$6 for "odd" stuff - which is good because I tend to
like the odd stuff (like the Triffids:-)

I'm going to try to use a laptop, and fit in into the console - a small
amount of engineering will be needed :-)

A CRT monitor uses as much as 10X the power of a LCD, so I think the laptop
is the way to go. To get an LCD panel, and make up a controller costs more
than buying a new LCD panel monitor and using the VGA port! I want it to be
cheapish!

Hehehe!

Thanks,
Allan ;0)

Yeah, but you can compress about 40 minutes of
near-DVD quality to a CD using MPEG2 (SVCD - 480x480
resolution), or I forget how much time with VCD (um,
352x240?). The bitrate is way lower on VCD -- 1150bps
instead of up to 2520bps variable bitrate with SVCD.
OK, enough of that. :) (I'm a big CD-video junkie)...

That sounds totally awesome! If you don't want to go
the touchscreen route (or just LCD in general), check
out this webpage:

The guy made a handheld atari vcs and used a
television screen from a portable TV (9V)... I'm sure
you could use a portable television screen as well if
you could adapt it? You could still use standard
components as long as you had TV-out on your
videocard. You just might need to use larger fonts. :)

But then, a sharp LCD screen would be way cool too...
