If the seal is all ragged at the bottom things might be different, but even so there's a 1/2" lip. Check the back end of the heater channel - it can look really good there and be a channel for water to pour in from behind the underseal. Believe me! I've a virtually perfect underside (and so has my Variant!), bumper mounts still firm, even jacking points, but I had a shock when I poked the underseal a bit - it was ONLY underseal there! Dave.
