Hi, I am new to the list and would greatly appreciate some advice on fuel injection troubleshooting. I would love to be able to retain the stock system, and feel it would be sacrilige to put on carbs. my '68 square, completely stock 1600, idles smoothly and runs fine through the rpm range under no load. but when driving there is a point, about 1/4 throttle, beyond which it sputters, coughs and has little power. The dividing line between running great and sputtering is very well defined and repeatable. The problem seems to be more pronounced when the engine has warmed up. The ignition items check out OK: plugs, points, dwell, timing. Where should i start looking for the problem? i.e. which FI components can be tested with normal tools My second question is: this car appears to have only vacuum advance, not centrifugual advance. Is that correct? Thanks in advance, Todd Heimer ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
