There would be an air unit under the dash, condensors in the front wheel
wells, and a compressor to the right rear of the engine.

What is it leaking, ATF, gear oil, or engine oil? Whichever it is, it is probably
a cheap and easy fix. Swapping in a type 4 engine is a lot of work with lots
of adaption hardware to fabricate. Not easy, not cheap. You need to spend
some time with this old engine first, so that you really know what the
problem is with it. Plus, I don't know if you can mate the type 4 engine to the
type 3 AT.
