eheheh... I know they can handle being tight... but I wouldn't go overboard - 250Ft-lbs is heaps, though I have used all my weight (105Kg) on a 1.4 metre bar to loosen a kombi one before!. I once managed to lift my "Fonzie" off one arm of a hoist... the arm swund out and I had to hold the back corner of the car up until someone could push the arm back under! I didn't really want my lovely little car to end up as a nasty mess on the floor! Funny thing is, those arms are suppposed to lock into place when the hoist moves of the floor - well it swung out from under the car and then locked *out*! Antony had to jam a screw driver into it before he could move the arm! I was shaking from holding the thing up (it wasn't super heavy - 3 other corners were supported, but because the back has the engine, it wanted to fall down... No wonder my back is screwed! Something I have always wondered about this- can doing them up too tight cause any problems or damage anything?
