> My guess is that any type 3 built for the US or Canada before 67 had M259 specified, along with M273/M297 (sealed beams, red rear lenses, mile speedometers, etc.). > > Everett, isn't your 63 Square a Canadian export model? Do you have lap belt mounting points? > My '63 has lap belts but the outer mounting points are drilled through the heater channel carpet and floorpan. The belts are made by a Michigan company. There are a bunch of pics of the seatbelts on my '63 page: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/scrapbook/63variant/ According to the factory letter, the '63 has option code M 445 - Canada Equipment. A combination, of course. What codes it consists of, I do not know. It does have the options you mentioned above. Also clear front turn signals and flashing orange side marker lights. My letter from Germany also says "M 268 - can not be identified". -- Everett Barnes everettb@thesamba.com http://www.thesamba.com ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
