I'm afraid that project has been bandied about for years, not months, and it 
seems unlikely that I'll ever get around to doing anything about it. I just don't 
seem to have the time....   ;-(  If I did, the current would be adjustable.

I hadn't thought about upping the field windings. I don't think that would do it, 
as that would only affect the voltage, which we already have plenty of. That's 
too bad because there's a lot more room for more field copper than there is 
for armature copper. It's still not clear that this would work, because I don't 
know how close we are to saturating (magnetically) the housing, which 
serves as the return path for the field.
