I use Netscape too and haven't had any problems opening them through the browser. There's no format difference between the images so I don't know what it could be.
I use Netscape as well. No problem.
Thinking this might have just been a fluke, I tried it again with the same negative results. This is with Netscape 4.79.
I use 6.02 so the older version might have a problem.
