I only coated mine because I *knew* it had sat empty for years, and was very rusty inside. It used to give me carb toubles, even with a fine gauze filter and a paper filter - the amount of crap was unbelieveable! I figured EFI wouldn't like all this crap circulating, so I fixed the tank. Well and truley! Hi all, I've read about people coating their tanks, etc. Do we NEED to do this? Is this just mainly preventive maintenance of some kind? My car is a '63 and im unsure if this process has ever been done, nor if it needs to. I never had problems with the gas getting to carb or whatever. Is there a tell-tell sign I should look for to determine if I should treat the tank. If I have to treat the tank what are the steps? Can I use the stuff from POR-15?
