[T3] Rear support bracket question

I have a '68 fastback with a '71 engine my buddy and I put in.  It's got
the original transmission, I think, although it had a type 1 motor in it
when I bought it.  The clutch started acting up, not wanting to go into
gear, about a month after I put in the '71 motor, so we put in a new
1700# Kennedy clutch.  Now, after only a week or two of driving, the
clutch is doing the same thing.  I'm wondering if this could have
anything to do with the rear support brackets that were on the '71 but
not the '68.  Could the engine be turning somehow and making the
flywheel come apart?
