But, they're still considerably brighter than the 6V sealed beams the car used to have, the 12V sealed beams on my '70 T3, *or* the 12V H4s on my wife's '89 Cabriolet, though the latter may be due to the Beetle's Hella H4s vs. the Cabriolet's EMPI H4s.
