Ive noticed... especially since getting back from the Parma trip that the deceleration of the Square is getting much louder when I take my foot off the gas at higher RPM. I know the tranny is shot, as the front bearing has been making noise for quite sometime but the noise seems different on decel... like a: MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm when I downshift. Motor is getting up there at 87K but its still strong and tight.... I dont *think* thats it but it sorta sounds like that... perhaps the gear whine on the cam is getting louder? Ive heard that too and it just doent seem like that. Could the tranny be the whole thing?? I can sure understand how someone could think these cars are really loud when things are old and worn... a few years ago it was MUCH quieter! I guess Im just getting closer to that T4 conversion eh?? :-) Keith ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
