There are lots of possibilities, but I really don't think you could have broken the cable. Perhaps it has just pulled out of the bearing cap in the left wheel. Or there may be a problem inside the speedo. I will check to make sure I haven't pulled it out from the bearing cap after work tomorrow. I did have to pull it out fairly far and through the firewall to get it to connect to the speedo before I could stuff it back into the dash. It was on the wrong side of that metal bracket so it went in cockeyed and wouldn't turn like that. I then had to push it back thru the firewall to shorten it again Duh. Then disconnect it under the dash move the cable around the bracket and reconnect it.
