Hey All, My '72 fastback started running very oddly a couple of days ago after I changed the battery. After driving for a couple of minutes and coming to a stop, the engine will idle at very high RPMs (3-4k), almost like the thottle is stuck. I can depress the gas pedal a little, let go, then the idle seems to come back down but not always. The situation doesn't get any better after heating up. So far, I've tested the aux air regulator by physically cutting of the air supply (before and after the valve), and it has no effect on the idle speed. Interestingly, if I press the gas at normal idle, the engine will rev up, as expected. When I let go, the engine will rev down below normal idle speed. Could the throttle be sticking? Could it be related to our recent cold weather here in the east? Any input would be appreciated, wade ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
