RE: [T3] long trip, leaky seal

Greg's right, it's really not a huge undertaking, but if you haven't done it
before I'd plan on it taking the whole weekend just to be safe, from not to
distant past experience, the first time you take it out and reinstall you
are going really slow, paranoid you will miss something/break something/kill
yourself ;) You NEED a buddy, good to have a big floor jack (2 is better).
Take pictures if you have a digital camera, draw notes if you don't, on the
electrical connections, etc (invariably a day later I can't remember where
that $@%!&* wire went.

On replacing the Engine Seal, I did this for the first time a few weeks ago,
it takes some time and patience for the first timer, but believe me it WILL
come out, keep prying at it in a circular motion trying not to damage the
case around it and eventually it will start to ease out (much cursing and
maybe some blood seems to encourage it to come out)

I don't know if I had an odd experience or if '66 was some kind of
changeover year but I bought the "kit" of clutch/pressureplate/throwout
bearing from my FLAPS that was designated for my '66 Fastback but after
getting it home the clutch in the kit wouldn't fit in the flywheel, had to
go back with my old clutch and get them to swap it for one that matched in
size, sorry at that point I was frustrated and didn't bother to note what
did work and what didn't or just what size of flywheel, clutch/etc I had,
just matched up parts so I could get back and put it in. Lesson here, plan
for at LEAST 2 trips back to FLAPS for parts you forgot. (Jim can you
explain this or did I just get a mismatched box?)
