Plus, this would completely eliminate the pressure-controlled oil "thermostat," which often bypasses oil (notably heavier ones) around the cooler at higher cruising rpms. That was exactly what I had in mind. I was going to take another 1&2 tin move the opening to the other end so both sides would match. Therefore, all cylinders would get the same flow. Not sure where to put a Mesa cooler with fan though. Maybe on one side of the transaxle? Then duct the air box for the DCOEs/DCOMs to the original hole in the rear apron, or...... I also thought about switching the carbs side to side, so I could put the linkage towards the transaxle side of the airbox (so it would be hidden). This should be doable by moving the push/pull stand to the case bolts closest to the trans (front). I realize I would probably have to make my own throttle levers for the carbs. But wouldn't that look nice and clean and symmetrical? You wouldn't see the oil cooler, carb linkage, fuel pump (electric), or spark plug wires (thinking about using Compufire with the coils mounted behind firewall. >>>> Anybody else have experience with DCNFs? But, I'll betcha a beer at the invasion that if you try them, you'll get frustrated... Sounds good!!
