JimA=> It would be almost impossible to come => up with a more free flowing intake. Then we => pick up a tiny amount of boost from the fan. Steven=>So has anybody tried this? It seems dead simple on a twin-carbed car. >(Remove right heat-exchange elbow, remove intake mixing box and boot, run paper heat hose from fan housing duct to air cleaner. Want a little more? Cap off left heat exchange duct.) Think about it. You will be creating loops in the air flow and several problem situations could arise. The carbs could pull air from the cooling system..or..the cooling air could push back thru to the apron plenum (starving the carbs)..or..the whole flow of air for both systems could be compromised. I don't think there is actually enough air or pressure coming out of the ducts of the fan shroud (the ones for the heat exchangers) to pressurize the air supply for the carbs. Does this make any sense? Am I all wet again?
