Ok everyone, I need to get back on this horse just to do a thorough check of my system. I need to remove the dist and check the trigger contacts, however the last time I removed the dist I put it in wrong and it was very expensive to fix. So I need your help. Now let me know if this is correct: 1. I put it in #1 firing position by lining up the rotor and the notch on the dist. 2. Make not of the dist's visual position, loosen the bolts and pull it out. Is it best to remove the dist by loosening the 10mm adjusting nut and pulling it out of the clamp. Or to remove the whole thing clamp and all, by removing the nut that holds the clamp to the engine? 3. Do what I need to do with it out of the car ;) 4. This is where it gets tricky, Put is back in as close to where it was positioned before, tighten bolts. How do I know it is in place before starting the engine? 5. Set timing.
