[T3] My new babies make it home

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Three months after I made the deal, two months after I paid for them and now
they're finally at their new home. I picked up my '70 Fastback and my '72
Notchback on Thrusday. The Notch needs lots of work, starting with the
rockers. I've already got a parts car with good rockers, and someone to weld
them in, so next month that part will be done. I'm going to the Classic in
California and will be scouring the lower half of the state for some late
model notch fenders. Current fenders are off a '66 Notch that the PO parted
out before he left Germany. He brought this car over in 1997 and let it sit
in his garage since then while he collected parts. I have almost all NOS
rubber for this car, including the window scrapers. Here are the links to
the notch pictures:

1970 VW Fastback
Apparently it had a vinyl top at one time. It got scraped off and painted
white:

These two cars have joined my '65 Notch:

The '65 will probably be sacraficed to get the '72 on the road. If anyone
want's to buy it, it'll be for sale soon for about $2500. I've also selling
my magazine collection to help finance the cost of fixing the '72. I have a
complete set of Hot VW's from 1967 to present, complete VW Trends from 1976
to present, complete Volkswagen Greats, complete VW & Porsche, an almost
complete european car, and about 125 issues of Foreign Car Guide. I've been
collecting these magazines for quite a while, but all they do is sit in the
garage. I would rather drive a car than have the magazine to reference.

My last picture -- I've finally got the complete set of Dealer Manuals for
the Type 3:

They are, from left to right; Type 3 workshop bulletins, Type 3 suggested
repair time, Types 1,2&3 repair time, 1961 Workshop Manual Volumes 1 & 2,
1965 Workshop Manual Volumes 1 & 2, 1961 parts book, 1963 parts book, 1969
parts book.
