<x-charset iso-8859-1>I have a fun project to do today... First off, this is type 4, but since there are so many more folks with experience on this list, I figured I would lots of great advice here... I have a complete 412 FI wire harness for our 74 412. sort of. I actually have 2 halves. the brain plug half to 4" past the engine compartment hole, and the plugs half, to 3 feet past the hole. We have painstakingly labeled and light tested all the wires (thank god the numbers are printed on each half) and I am ready to solder them all together to complete the loom. What solder would be best, and what technique for joining should I use? I really have little experience in soldering. I know that the connections will never be as perfect as a factory connection, but if you think finding a complete type3 FI harness is tough, try finding one for the one year only FI system, rare as hell type 4 412! The reason I have to do this is because the PO had HACKED up the correct FI system , and replaced it with a combination type 3/73 type 4 system. Boy, did that run like crap! It has been quite a journey to restore it to the correct system! We are almost done... Thanks in advance!
