I know I can buy the > damper pipe and tail pipe, but new it is like $74. For late cars there are 2 kinds of exhaust systems: the kind with muffler, damper, and tailpipe, and the kind with muffler and damper/tailpipe. Your 72 would have come with the latter style originally, but either could have been fitted in the last 30 years. If you have the 3 part kind you can just replace the tailpipe alone. I have them and they are cheap. If you have the 2 part style with the integral damper/tailpipe, then it's possible you could get a muffler shop to bend up and weld on a new outer end. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
