<x-charset iso-8859-1>Well, I am certain that this query has been asked/answered before, but I really could use some help. My gas gauge needle jumps around whenever the fuel in the tank gets down to halfway or so. I tried pulling the wire from the sender and turning the key to the on position. The gauge needle stays buried at "E" so I assume my wiring is fine. My guess is that the sender float contacts and/or wires have some "dead" spots due to some form of corrosion. If I open up the sender I am sure to break those delicate little wires. Any suggestions for cleaning my current sender without opening it up? A bath of brake cleaner, perhaps? I imagine that a like-new 6v sender will be tough to locate so...Will a 12v sender work in a 6v car? If not, why? Thanks! - Todd ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much? Digest! mailto:type3-d-request@vwtype3.org Subj=subscribe </x-charset>
