does any one know of a shop that refinished steering
wheels, mail order, i guess. i don't think there is
anyone around boise, unless an upholsery shop can do it.

i refinished my bug wheel about 6 years ago with some
epoxy based spray paint, but it began to crack. is there
a way to do myself, i have no air tools.

Koch in California restores steering wheels. Generally, they cost about $250
per restoration. Some are good, others are poor. Their number is
(661)-252-9264 in Canyon Country, California. They also have a goodly supply
of vintage parts. You can buy a book from RMMW that tells you how to do it.
It sells for about $17 + the cost
of supplies, another $25 or so. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself,
unless you are handy with stuff like this.
