RE: [T3] just contacted by email...

Brian's message seems to be similar in general flavor to one that
came my way earlier, but they seem to have started to define what they
plan to do. The new message contains this url:

	http://vwlicense.ipprotector.com

where there are drafts of various agreements. One interesting thing is...

''Licensee is permitted to display images of Volkswagen vehicles on their
website and documentation provided those images were not taken from the
official Volkswagen website, vw.com, or other Volkswagen copyrighted
documentation.''

Hrm... so what about something like an owner's manual, accessory
brochure, or a scan of a print advertisement? (Or, are these o.k. as long
as they don't show *vehicles*?) If you go super-literal on this, a
picture of a show car with the owner's manual displayed in the trunk would
be off-limits... but I don't believe that was intended.

Any lawyers in the house? Hopefully this will all work out in the
long run -- I hope that VW is just trying to CYA in case people put up
unfairly damaging/misleading sites, rather than trying to go nuts and put
a tight grip on how folks share info about their hobby.
