<x-charset iso-8859-1>I have installed a microswitch in my 68 Auto Fastback. (I replaced the M/C with a unit out a Mazda that does not have a port for the original switch.) The switch is a 'normally closed' type, also off of a Mazda. It is mounted on a bracket welded to the pedal (moves with it. I welded a piece of metal bent into an 'L' to the pan to form a stop for the switch on the other side. I had to lead the wiring into the car, otherwise it was a simple mod. Can I use one off of my 71 Fasty (12V) on my 66 Square (6V)? The brake lights on Sophy are working intermittently. I have had a few people pull up and honk at me and tell me my brake lights aren't working. If I step on the pedal hard once they seem to be fine for some period of time. Long enough that I forget to check them. Until, of course, the next person toots at me. <G> Anything else it could be besides the switch? It seems to only need to have a good hard push to get them working and then they work with even light pressure. Anyone installed an electric micro switch on the pedal like modern cars have instead of the pressure switch? Just something I have been considering.
